Duties and Responsibilities: :
+ Assign employees to work specific jobs loading unloading building up and breaking down air freight.
+ Ensure that employees are fully trained on company policies and procedures including warehouse safety forklift operation and security procedures.
+ Ensure that service issues are addressed and/or corrected to ensure quality of service is maintained to airline customers.
+ Maintains an orderly work area perform or assign general warehouse housekeeping duties including sweeping storage and dock areas.
+ Operate forklifts tugs and other handling equipment which is required to transport freight in a safe and efficient manner.
+ Ensures that all company safety rules including dangerous goods handling and awareness are bring adhered to report safety hazards and incidents to Terminal Supervisors.
+ Ensure all cargo is screened according to airline and Transport Canada requirements
+ Inventory freight to ensure proper accounting for import and export shipments.
+ Direct cargo agents in performance of their duties and carry out other lead responsibilities in accordance with Menzies Aviation polices and applicable laws.
+ Performs new employee introduction to work area explains rules uniform policy warehouse procedures and provides overview of department operations. Provide ongoing training.
+ Manage employee rosters and time and attendance disciplines.
+ Other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ One-year college certificate or technical school six months related experience or equivalent
+ Combination of education and experience
+ Ability to lead a team of Cargo Agents
+ Good communication skills verbal and written in the English language
+ Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
+ Must have current driver’s license with no violations over the past 5 years
+ Must pass and maintain all required security clearances and Transport Canada Background check.
+ Prior Cargo experience and Fork lift certification preferred
+ Must be able to lift at least 30 kgs on a continuous basis
+ Must pass a Transport Canada background check
