A Lead Electrical Design Engineer shall be responsible for producing aircraft interior systems designs drawings and reports for production and certification. This should be completed on time while optimizing cost weight function and manufacturability. Works under guidance of Senior Electrical Engineer.
Summary of Duties:
+ Use Company specifications customer specifications engineering drawings and basic aircraft wiring design and practice while designing aircraft interior wiring systems
+ Prepare wiring diagrams harness assemblies and electrical drawing packages using 2D and basic 3D modeling; while meeting drawing release dates.
+ Create acceptance testing; Write test plans reports and analysis such as electrical load analysis electromagnetic interference test plans reports and passenger address system substantiations.
+ Prepare engineering change notices (ECNs) as required to support manufacturing.
+ Develop quality designs evaluating cost safety and manufacturing within the time constraints of a project.
+ Prepare drawings reports and other engineering data required for production testing and qualification of designed equipment.
+ Act as shop liaison during initial production units to solve engineering problems encountered in production and support production personnel with manufacturing electrical design.
+ Coordinate with Supply Chain to examine suppliers’ lead times cost and availability for electrical components and parts.
+ Apply knowledge of electrical engineering especially power systems and airworthiness requirements for passenger aircraft interiors.
+ Create schematic diagrams (complex system).
+ Prepare ELA (whole program).
+ Performing voltage drop and electrical bonding analysis.
+ Coordinating with other disciplines.
+ Check and sign drawings.
+ Create EMI test plan and performing substantiation.
+ Create PA system report.
+ Perform emergency lighting analysis.
+ Perform some project engineering duties such as coordinating with suppliers approving drawings dispositioning NCRs.
Qualifications:
Education: BS Engineering/Science in Electrical Engineering is preferred or 2-Yr Technical degree and 5 Yrs experience in field
Experience: Minimum 5 years engineering experience. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles practices and procedures in the field; Able to prepare electrical package for a complex program; Ability to interpret code a big plus and perform system level troubleshooting; Advanced understanding of FAA regulations and OEM requirements.
Computer Skill: MS Office Suiteâ MS Windowsâ. CATIA V5 SmarTeam are preferred. AutoCAD is useful.
