The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) organization has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Reliability and Maintainability (R & M) engineer (Level 2) to join the Boeing Supportable Low Observability team in St. Louis, MO to contribute to technology development, maintenance processes, predictive analysis, concept prototyping,, and flight test research activities.

Position Responsibilities:

The engineer is expected to execute Reliability & Maintainability including but not limited to:

  • Provide Supportable Low Observables support to various proprietary defense programs to minimize life cycle cost (LCC) while maintaining vehicle signature performance.

  • Support the development and maturation of technologies critical to national defense. This includes developing requirements and reliability/maintainability demonstrations.

  • Maturation of LO maintenance data analysis tools and systems to efficiently direct LO maintenance actions by users.

  • Communicate results of analysis to various Boeing teams and Government customers.

  •  Respond quickly and effectively to embedded Government customers on analysis and modeling. This position is expected to grow into coordination of entire demonstrations with numerous stakeholders and unsupervised project leadership roles.

  • Develop Failure Mode and Effects Analysis which involves reviewing components, assemblies, and subsystems to identify failure modes, and their causes and effects.

  • Development of Criticality Analysis which is used to chart the probability of failure modes against the severity of their consequences.

  • Construct integrated system reliability models from component analysis.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Technical Bachelors degree (A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in an engineering, mathematics, or scientific field of study.)

  • 2+ years of engineering experience.

  • Reliability or Maintainability Experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance.

  • Master’s Degree in technical field.

  • Survivability / Low Observability Experience

  • Strong organization and risk management skills.

  • Mechanical Engineering degree and/or experience.

  • Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE).

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
