Position Overview:

Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is currently looking for an Associate Tooling Engineer to join aPhantom Works Proprietary Program team located in Berkeley, MO. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting tool design efforts and collaborate with the production & design teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to bring their knowledge and creativity to the team and help solve complex and challenging problems. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the evaluation of program and project requirements, develops moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System.

  • Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates for equipment and tooling.

  • Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.

  • Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, prepares plans for productions readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares.

  • Develops and implements moderately complex work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation.

  • Supports studies for disposition of assets.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently possess a Technical Bachelors, Masters or a PhD degree (A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study)

  • Strong communication skills, Strong problem solving skills and Strong drive for process improvement

  • Experience with three-dimensional parametric modeling using NX/Teamcenter or CATIA/ENOVIA methods and tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Assembly process knowledge

  • Experience in Equipment & Tool Engineering

  • Design and drawing creation proficient

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
