Summary: The Director of Flight Operations is responsible for managing the WestAir Charter business to operate the fleet of managed aircraft safely, efficiently, profitably and in compliance with the FAR and Operations Specifications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all FARs including pilot currency
  • Maintain relationship with FAA POI (Primary Operations Inspector)
  • Understand and assist in Management Agreement negotiation as needed
  • Attend annual budget meetings and maintain P&L per the current annual budget
  • Plan marketing functions and accurate representation of the capabilities of the department
  • Occasionally fly charter trips, post maintenance flights, or other flying duties on as needed basis
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Experience and Skillset:

  • 5 years’ minimum experience in FAR 135 and/or scheduled airline operations
  • Detailed understanding of FAR part 135 regulations and operations
  • Proficiency in MS Office including creation of spreadsheets, database management and reporting
  • Strong interpersonal skills dealing with persons from professional backgrounds in aviation and other business environments

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • FAA Class 2 medical clearance
  • Minimum Commercial Pilots License & Instrumental Rating
