Description, duties, responsibilities
The Director oversees all aspects of a Fixed Base Operation (FBO). The incumbent will oversee one location directly and may manage three or more other locations remotely with the assistance of a location General Manager or Station Manager. The director will plan, direct and coordinate activities concerned with general aviation, airline, maintenance and/or operation of airport facilities in accordance with governmental agency or commission policies and regulations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
May manage subordinate General Managers or Station Managers
Develop understanding of the market for the FBO by conducting market and competitive research to determine growth opportunities and strategies to increase market share
Consult with commission members, airport management, governmental officials, and representatives of airlines to plan such matters as formulation of operating rules, regulations and procedures aircraft landing, taxiing and take-off for various types of aircraft
Identify and negotiate business development opportunities for Signature Flight Support and BBA Aviation in business dealings with current and prospective hangar tenants for lease of buildings and/or hangar space
Remain aware of competitive environment in immediate and surrounding geographic area
Promote Signature Status and other promotions designed to generate additional volume
Coordinate with other Signature FBO leaders to improve service deliverables in an effort to increase customer loyalty
Coordinate activities of personnel involved in repair and maintenance of aircraft and/or ground service equipment
Establish a culture that promotes safety through daily observation, shift briefings, routine audits, maintenance of SHEBBA, monthly safety meetings, training and documented safety procedures. Formulate procedures for use in event of aircraft accidents, fires or other emergencies
Establishes a culture that promotes customer loyalty by creating an environment of increased employee engagement
Oversee financial management of all bases responsible for including capital expenditures, forecasting, budgeting, audit performance and expense management
Work with General Managers or Station Managers to ensure proper staffing levels are maintained based on daily/weekly/monthly volumes
Develop, communicate and monitor, through subordinate leadership, activities of ramp, baggage handling, and cleaning to ensure operations meet Company and government policies and regulations
Confer with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area
Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws at all locations for which incumbent is responsible
Responsible for succession planning which includes identifying strong performers and taking an active role in his or her development, as well as addressing those who under-perform

Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university or five (5) to ten(10) years related experience and/or training, with at least five (5) years related general aviation management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience overseeing multiple locations a plus.

Must possess a valid drivers license.
Must possess strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
General knowledge of business management and accounting.
Proficient with personal computers and Microsoft office products
