Encore Air Cargo is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Chief Pilot for our upcoming Fargo, ND base. In addition to supervisory duties, this person will also need to be qualified to be PIC under Part 135 IFR and have or be able to acquire a single pilot Metro III type rating. This person will report to the company Chief Pilot.
The Assistant Chief Pilot will be resposible for supervising company operations and crew members to ensure all flights are conducted in compliance with all applicable policies and regulations. This person will need to communicate directly with customers, dispatchers, flight crews, and managers to ensure smooth operations at all times. The Assistant Chief Pilot will have Operational Control Authority for company operations. This person will also serve as a pilot in the Metro III as needed to cover sick calls, vacations, and any ad hock/charter flights that may come up. Maintaining safety is a prime consideration in all operations.
This position will require excellent communication skills, the ability to plan ahead, make contingency plans, and the ability to make and execute decisions in a high pressure environment. Proficiency with iPads and ForeFlight is preferred, but not required.
The Assistant Chief Pilot must be able to serve as a pilot as follows: pilots are responsible to safely and efficiently fly their assigned air cargo route in accordance with all FAA and TSA regulations. They are also responsible for ensuring flight plans are filed, checking weather/NOTAMs, and conducting pre-flights and post-flights. Applicants must posess excellent customer service skills and may be needed to help with loading and unloading of their aircraft. Salary for this position is competitively based on qualifications and experience. Full time pilots are elegible for our standard benefits package, which includes health insurance (including option for dental), 401K with company match, ESOP, life insurance, PTO, AFLAC, and company reimbursement for FAA medicals. We are an employee owned company with ESOP eligibilty beginning after one year of employment. Company also provides for lodging and crew cars when away from base. We are an EEO employer.
Pilots must meet the following 135 qualifications and flight time experience requirements:
- Commercial/Instrument AMEL or ATP
- 1200 Total Flight Time (1,700 preferred)
- 500 Cross Country
- 100 Night
- 75 Insturument (actual+simulated)
- Valid 1st or 2nd Class Medical
- Turbine experience and/or 500 hours multi preferred
