The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in all aspects of multi-state payroll (including Puerto Rico and Guam) adept at creative solutions and results driven with a bias towards integrity action and delivery. You must be highly proficient in Excel and working in UltiPro (Core Back Office and Business Intelligence).
This role will help to elevate the department and drive the strategy of current and future Payroll goals ensuring compliance with all federal state and local regulations and filings creating and maintaining all Payroll processing documentation and required forms and operate as a subject matter expert for all Payroll-related inquiries.
You will lead and manage a team of Payroll Specialists ensuring that all processes are executed appropriately and in a timely manner
Main accountabilities include:
+ Ensure compliance with federal state and local government mandates related to wage requirements
+ Operates as the subject matter expert and escalation point to resolve issues
+ Optimizes the contribution of the team through coaching counselling and implements workable solutions to business issues/problems
+ Conducts work planning estimation and prioritization to optimize performance of team
+ Assist in monitoring workload and evaluate direct reports
+ Ensure team members acquire necessary skills and performance attributes in line with business and personal development needs
+ Cover for team members in back-up role for vacation and/or high-volume work efforts.
+ Approve and release manual off-cycle check payments.
+ Implement and adhere to quality control measures for self and team
+ Review and sign off on all payrolls for team members
+ Responsible for ensuring that wage attachments are processed and up to date
+ Monthly and quarterly tax reconciliations
+ Responsible for the annual W2 reconciliation and processing
+ Update and maintain SUI rates
+ Works with the Director HRIS Payroll and Benefits to define standards and execute implementation
+ Effectively manage and build excellent working relationships
+ Collaborate with Benefits HR Operations Accounting and Finance to resolve issues
+ Maintain and organize electronic and physical library of payroll records
Qualifications and Experience:
+ Minimum of five years in a Payroll leadership role encompassing multi-state (including Puerto Rico and Guam) unions wage attachments and tax reconciliations using UltiPro
+ Functional/Technical Skills
+ Advance proficiency in UltiPro (Ultimate Software)
+ Advance knowledge of MS Office (Excel Word and PowerPoint).
