We have an excited opportunity as GM the General Manager Ground Handling and Fueling for Ottawa needs to have knowledge of narrow and wide body aircraft ground handling into-plane fueling and tank farm and is accountable for overseeing and managing critical and day to day operational activities.
Main accountabilities include:
+ Full accountability to the GM Ground Handling and Fueling Operations for Health and Safety issues operational and financial performance within the business units
+ Monitor airline volumes and forecasts and based on information pre-plan to mitigate potential impact to ground and fueling operations and flow within the region
+ Analyse issues and establish operational priorities; identify gaps and/or changes required to policies SOPs or other protocols and provide this information to the applicable Functional Managers
+ Leadership management planning and coaching of teams to ensure safe and secure operations including identification and resolution of complex situations implementing IRROP procedures as required returning to normal as soon as possible
+ Planning resource allocation in each business unit
+ Routinely liase with customer representatives and all internal and external customers and agencies
+ Represent the Company at a local level with external agencies
+ Producing routine reports
+ Supporting the development of the business units with accurate and timely project work
+ Leading the station equipment planning cycle
+ Responsible for ensuring compliance with all Civil Aviation Authorities policies including but not limited to Public Safety Security SeMS IMS practices environmental policies Workplace Health and Safety and all other governances through Transport Canada
+ Ensuring compliance with all internal and external operational and administrative requirements
+ Ensures tasks are performed in accordance with the Company and Airlines specific procedures and policies
+ Required to attend the mandatory training imposed by the Company and Airlines as per job role
+ Accountable for safety security environmental and compliance requirements
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
+ 5 to 7 years’ management experience in the Airport Ground Handling and Fueling business.
+ A proven track record in managing a business unit
+ Demonstrated ability to influence collaborate and negotiate cross functionally in a unionized environment as well as with external stakeholders to achieve results
+ Knowledge of airline inspection agency passenger process and baggage handling procedures as they relate to Service Delivery
+ Experience in operational planning and resource allocation
+ Detailed knowledge of IATA Dangerous Goods procedures
+ Working knowledge of GSE maintenance issues
+ Understanding of the wider airport operational environment
+ Experience and understanding of the commercial issues in aviation
+ Ability to successfully manage under pressure and respond to critical and or changing priorities throughout the day
+ Must be legally able to work in Canada
+ Must be able to read write and speak English
+ Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing
+ Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
+ Experience of Health and Safety management
+ Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance
+ Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
+ Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
