Summary
The Engineer V (Chief Engineer) will take ownership and/or support technical engineering teams and projects related to water and waste systems and components. They will provide technical guidance and mentoring to the functional team and external groups. Using sound engineering principles this engineer will interface with cross functional groups (internal and external) to ensure robust airworthy designs are attained which meet budget schedule and internal requirements and goals. This leadership position will be responsible for participating in and leading improvement activities at a group and/or company level. This critical role requires deep systems thinking and electronics engineering experience with logic controlling systems and software system protocols fault monitoring and safety controls within the aerospace or avionics industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Subject matter expert for ZWWS
+ Responsible for the technical data produced from functional group
+ Provides technical guidance and mentoring for functional group
+ Ensures technical solutions meet customer and regulatory requirements
+ Responsible for strategy of subject matter including developing and executing R&T roadmap and interfaces with OEMs and suppliers
+ Approve review and process any engineering changes and data produced in functional group
+ Utilizes sound technical problem solving to lead ongoing and new projects
+ Oversees research and/or testing for new development
+ Presents technical findings and trade studies
+ Ensures designs meet airworthiness standards customer requirements and ZWWS internal standards
+ Assesses and creates standard work and leads or support improvement projects (group or company level)
+ Interfaces with various groups (internal and external) to support new business and bring projects to completion
+ Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (electronics electrical aerospace or mechatronics preferred) from a recognized institution
+ Desired minimum of 12+ years of engineering experience in the design/ development of electronic aircraft components ssystems software and controls.
+ Specific Experience Required: Certification requirements (RTCA DO178 and DO254 conscious); software packages that ensure all equip works together; System controller communication within aircraft using inputs to command other equipment; simple solenoids or complex motor controls
+ Simulation/Analysis Experience with Saber Pspice/LTspice Matlab Simuling PSIM is preferred.Requirements Mng with Doors and/ or Jira are preferred.Design Experience using TI Code Composer Studio C/C++ IAR embedded workbenchAC or DC motors is desireable.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly required to move around the office.
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
Travel: Travel may be up to 25% depending on program assignment
