Engineer - Senior Avionics Software JOB SUMMARY This position will be within the Avionics Engineering with software responsibilities. Job duties will include the following Software Site Management PCMCIA Card Management 757 FDAMS ACMS Programming A320 DMU FDIMU ACMS Programming A330 DMU FDIMU ACMS Programming SCCD Management Audits Software Master Book Management Audits New Aircraft Software Software Distribution and Sceptre Software Page Setup Provide professional service and have the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with all internal external customers. Provide day-to-day reliability surveillance of components and pilot reports for the fleet type and avionics system assigned. Coordinate Major Repairs Alterations Approval with appropriate regulatory and technical authorities. Provide periodic reliability reports as called for on assigned avionics systems. Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting assistance within the Technical Operations Department Assist in ad hoc projects and complete other work as assigned by the Manager or Director. JOB QUALIFICATIONS BS Degree in Electrical Computer Programming Computer Network Engineering or Mechanical Civil or Aerospace Engineering plus 3 years related airline software engineering experience airline desirable degree in other related area plus 5 years engineering experience airline desirable . Demonstrated knowledge of aircraft avionics electronics maintenance programs policies procedures data necessary to substantiate Repairs Alterations and Vendor Documentation. Technical training and engineering related experience related on Boeing and Airbus aircraft preferred Software configuration control experience a plus Knowledge of FAR&39;s regulatory compliance requirements vendor manuals US Airways procedures and documents Strong written and verbal communication skill Strong investigative analytical and problem solving skills Project Management as well as cost benefit analysis skills desired Self-motivated conscientious and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Aircraft airline engineering experience and maintenance program knowledge desired Salary to be commensurate with experience Must be performing satisfactorily in current position US Airways is an equal opportunity employer.
