Flight Instructor Assistant Chief Duties
Assists the Chief Flight Instructor in daily management functions of the AU Flight Education Program with special attention to the standardization and evaluation of ground and flight training and provides continuity of flight education under FAR Part 141 during the absence of the Chief Flight Instructor.
Minimum Qualifications The minimum qualifications are a Bachelor's Degree from and accredited institution and 1 year related experience; meet FAA qualifications to serve as Assistant Chief Flight Instructor under FAR Part 141.36 and a total of 500 hours flight instructor experience 1 000 hours as pilot in command at least one year and 125 hours flight time as an instrument instructor at least 50 hours of flight time under actual or simulated instrument conditions and six months or more experience as a ground instructor in an FAA approved pilot school. Hold FAA certification as Flight Instructor Airplane Instrument and Multi-Engine and meet FAA requirements to act as a Check Instructor.
Desired Qualifications Desired qualifications include: experience in Cessna 172 and BE 76 aircraft giving end-of-course flight tests in advanced flight courses; and experience in air carrier operations as a flight crew member for an airline.
