For its Hazardous Area Communications (HAC) division Eaton is currently recruiting a: Product Line Manager – Audio Signalling Devices Location : Sutton in Ashfield UK CONTEXT: The Product Line Manager is responsible for the strategic and tactical global management of the product line(s) particularly for sales growth and improved sales margin of the product line with a focus on managing the life cycle of the product line via innovation and new product development. The creation of detailed MGPPs based on true Voice Of Customer (VOC) and offering guidance of our markets will be of particular importance. The role exists to manage a product line. This is a largely commercial role focused on sales and margin growth but requires technical knowhow and market experience to make this a reality. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Responsibility as part of the Signalling GPLM management team for Audio Signalling Devices global sales & profit plan. - Driving a high performance PLM function for the product line enabling superior sales and margin growth. - Work closely with the RSD’s sales teams and marketing globally to target new business and gain their mindshare so they support the product line. - Identifying and delivering NPD for the product line. Drive vitality % in line with the HAC strategy focusing on delivering the projects on time to costed plans using the Prolaunch process. - Set product line commercial and pricing strategy agree it with the Global Product Line Manager and HAC sales Director whose team will be responsible for implementation by customer. - Set the product positioning in the market and work with marketing to set the marketing requirements by product line agree the messages with the marketing team for implementation. - Identify new growth opportunities eg new markets verticals geography certifications channels share opportunities. - Train internal and external customers on the product line and educate markets customers and channels on the why they should buy the product line. - Work collaboratively across the HAC business gaining buy- in to the commercial strategy of the product line. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: - 2-5 years of commercial experience in industrial product lines. Past working experience within multi-national companies preferred. - Sales experience working within oil and gas marine mining industrial industries knowledge of those markets and the related customers as well as the key issues affecting the markets. - Desirable experience with End users and/or Engineering and Procurement Contractors System Integrators and a proven track record in understanding their activities from front end design to project execution will be a major help to this role. - Knowledge of how to manage a product line through its life cycle and ability to demonstrate achievement of a product line strategy becoming reality in terms of sales growth and margin growth. - The ideal candidate should be technically competent within the hazardous area environment and eager to learn more technical details of product lines understanding certification and legislation issues in and around that area. - Ability to work closely both regionally and Internationally with other team members. - A high degree of competence in use of tools for analysis of data particularly excel including the creation and use of pivot tables and advanced features and creating and delivering PowerPoint presentations. - Fluent in both written and spoken English. - Ability to travel for 25% of the time.
