We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Assembler to join our Mission Systems group in Rancho Bernardo CA. This position is responsible for performing a variety of non-routine and non-repetitive assembly operations on electronic and /or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
+ This is not an assembly line cable position. This Sr. Assembler will be building one of a kind cables and work closely with the Cable Designer and engineer to meet the requirements.
+ Having flexibility and an understanding of the end product is a must. The cables we build are often one of a kind.
+ The candidate will work closely with the designer and engineer to meet the requirements.
+ Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing assembly tasks such as wiring component installation hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units.
+ May monitor and verify quality in accordance with control procedures.
+ The ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
+ In this particular group the Sr. Assembler will work on prototype and low volume equipment. No work on an assembly line.The Assembler will work closely with the Cable Designer to produce the end product.
+ Essential Functions 1. Assembles components assemblies or sub-assemblies. 2. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to specifications. 3. May perform duties as required in assembly of electronic equipment such as cables harnesses chassis and printed circuit boards or mechanical assembly of panels LRUs batteries and servo motors. 4. May disassemble modify rework reassemble and test assemblies or subassemblies.Job Qualifications:
+ Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and five or more years experience.
+ Ideal candidates will have 10+ years of cable assembly within Aerospace field.
+ IPC-620 certification Mil-spec cable assembly soldering IPC-610 J-STD
+ Must be able to read BOM and Cable drawings.
+ Experience with Windchill and SAP are desired.
+ Having the ability to maintain the wire and assembly inventory is desired.
+ Must be customer focused and possess: (1) the ability to read and interpret engineering drawing and wire lists; (2) considerable knowledge and understanding of the general aspects of the job and their practical applications to problems; (3) good knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the position; (4) familiarity with use of soldering and compression connection tools; and (5) good visual perception and ability to distinguish between colors.Travel Percentage Required:
