••Product Manager Network Test Products
We are seeking an analytically minded individual to join our Product Management team with a strong background in managing technical products and product lines. This individual needs to have a proven track record of learning new technologies and introducing and launching successful products into the B2C space, network test equipment is preferable.Under the direction of the Director of Product Management, the person will be responsible for managing one or more of the Network Test product lines from cradle to grave. They will work closely with sales, engineering, operations and customers to build and launch products that solve real market needs that customers value.As this small team continues to grow theres also an opportunity to help shape and guide its expansion through market research mentorship and advocacy across the company. + Gather and interpret market data for new features, generate and size opportunities to prioritize features, and define key performance metrics for the team.
+ Structure product based quantitative and/or qualitative research to understand and improve our product line competitiveness.
+ Identify, translate, prioritize, and inform important product questions with data
+ Explore data to find actionable insights and make product recommendations through funnels, cohort analyses, long term trends, user segmentation, regression models, and more.
+ Manage the sales funnel to help meet revenue and profit targets.
+ Develop and own product roadmaps and detailed business plan consistent with the vision and strategic intent of Greenlee communications.
+ Own the product feature funnel to prioritize resources and maximize return on investment for all products.
+ Develop a monthly forecast for assigned product categories
+ Drive data based decision making into new product development plans and innovations via primary and secondary market research. Defines customer centric product roadmaps.
+ In cooperation with Engineering and Operations, manage the commercial aspects of the product development process for both new and existing products across all market segments for assigned manufacturing facility or vendor.
+ Establish and monitor market price of assigned products. Work with Marketing and Finance to respond to special pricing requests.
+ Responsible for maintaining required profit margins on assigned products based on desired market pricing and internal costs analysis.
+ Develop new product introduction plan based on input from Marketing and Sales. Components to include: Product Specifications for the targeted market, inventory requirements, three years& 8217; unit sales, pricing, required capital expenditures, introduction schedule, Return on Investment and competitive comparisons.
+ Analyze and develop product strategies in terms of inventory levels, product life cycles, and line positioning.
+ Negotiate with Engineering on feature sets to meet time and cost targets while meeting market needs. Obtain technical opinions and estimates of time and costs of product development and coordinates all activities relative to the development process.
+ Consult with marketing, sales, finance and manufacturing for most effective and profitable pricing and marketing of products.
+ Conduct product line profitability analysis and recommends necessary improvement initiatives.
+ Work with Channel Manager in creating promotion plans for assigned product categories.
+ Provids the necessary support to the Sales function, including product training, developing competitive product information, participating in regional sales meetings and working with end user customers.
+ Maintain current knowledge of market trends, technologies, competitors, customer base, market size, channels of distribution, industry trade associations and required product certifications for developing business in a targeted market segment.
+ Recommend criteria for testing newly developed products, reviews test results and recommends necessary alteration of testing or product.
+ Work to improve product management processes using established techniques of Textron Six Sigma.
+ Recommends patent action and directs international trademark application and enforcement for products.
+ 3 years of experience doing quantitative analysis for a technology company
+ Proven track record of learning new technologies
+ History of introducing and launching successful products into the B2C space, network test equipment is preferable
+ Demonstrated success in using analytics to drive the understanding, growth, and success of a product.
+ Ability to communicate and present critical information to all levels of employees and customers to achieve assigned objectives.
+ The organizational agility, interpersonal and political savvy skills necessary to gain cooperation of several departments that do not report directly to the position.
+ Strong business and financial skills necessary to determine profit margins and market pricing for an assigned product mix for an international market.
+ Planning, organizing and process management skills required to successfully complete multi years projects involving engineering, manufacturing, marketing communications and vendors in accordance with the approved product introduction date.
+ Network technology knowledge is desirable.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
+ Requires a Bachelors Degree in Business or similar, or a Bachelors in Engineering. An advanced degree is preferred but not a requirement. 2 years& 8217; experience in the network technology space.
