POSITION DESCRIPTION
Department: Aviation
Position Title: Passenger Boarding Attendants
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Supervisor / Duty Manager
Supervises: N/A
General Responsibilities:
Attendants will be responsible to ensure that all passengers who are allowed access the lower multi gates have an airline boarding pass. Agents will ensure that all passengers remain under direct control while they are in the multi gate boarding area and the Airport Operations Area. Agents are responsible for ensuring the passenger walkway used are free from hazards and will immediately notify the appropriate air carrier representative when possible hazards such as liquid spills or loose debris are discovered in any passenger staging and/or walking area. Attendants will be responsible for performing overall passenger service duties for an assigned area. Required to work evenings and weekends.
Specific Duties / Essential Job Functions: (Other duties may be assigned.)
  • Secure doors, staircases, escalators and elevators where access to a secured area is possible without passing through a security checkpoint.
  • Prevent any person without proper identification from entering a secured area and directing customers to the proper path/location.
  • Respond to any breach of security when an alarm is sounded within the assigned area of responsibility in accordance with Airport or local security procedures.
  • Perform boarding pass check and destination verification against passenger manifest.
  • Hold outbound passenger movement from lower walkway to the outbound aircraft until flight crew is ready to accept passengers.
  • Direct passengers to their departing aircraft.
  • Provide final passenger counts to flight crew on aircraft.
  • Direct all inbound passengers in the direction of the stairs and elevators to the B Concourse.
  • Comply with all safety, security, compliance and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, by our Clients and by regulatory authorities
  • Monitor and direct passenger movement on the Airport Operations Area and intervene if any customer requires assistance and ensure passengers do not congregate on ramp areas.
  • Responsible to direct passengers in the direction of their departing aircraft.
  • Responsible to direct passengers from inbound aircraft to lower walkway.

Language Skills:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals, and employee handbooks.   • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Employee must comply with the Company’s uniform and grooming standards and must wear his or her SIDA badge/Airport ID at all times.
  • Employee must comply with all guidelines and policies set forth in the Air Serv Corporation Employee Handbook. These policies include, but are not limited to, the Company’s Zero Tolerance Discrimination and Harassment Policy, Retaliation Policy, Ethics Policy, and Security Policy.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
Previous airline experience preferred but not required.
Overall:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must submit to and pass a drug screen.
Must meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge and Customs Seal (if applicable), including successful completion of a background check and ten-year work history.
