Job Summary: 
The Shipping & Receiving Manageroversees all inbound and outbound logistics operations within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station, ensuring aircraft parts, materials, and tooling are received, stored, handled, and shipped in full compliance with FAA regulations, the Repair Station Manual (RSM), and Quality Control Manual (QCM). This role leads the warehouse team, manages inventory accuracy, and ensures all documentation and traceability requirements are met. The manager drives efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement across all shipping, receiving, and warehouse functions. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Leadership & Team Management: 

  • Supervise, train, and develop shipping and receiving personnel, including coordinators, clerks, and warehouse staff. 

  • Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to FAA, OSHA, and company standards. 

  • Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance evaluations. 

Shipping and Receiving Operations 

  • Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments of aircraft parts, components, tooling, and materials. 

  • Ensure proper inspection, verification, and routing of incoming items in accordance with FAA Part 145 requirements. 

  • Confirm all incoming parts include required documentation (8130?3, C of C, teardown reports, traceability). 

  • Manage packaging, labeling, hazmat compliance (IATA/49 CFR), and carrier coordination. 

  • Resolve discrepancies, freight issues, and vendor?related concerns. 

Inventory & Warehouse Management  

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation. 

  • Ensure proper storage, segregation, and handling of serviceable, unserviceable, and quarantined parts. 

  • Oversee ERP/MRO system transactions to maintain real?time accuracy of receipts, transfers, and shipments.  

  • Enforce FIFO, traceability, and controlled parts handling procedures. 

Compliance & Safety  

  • Ensure full compliance with FAA Part 145, RSM/QCM procedures, DOT regulations, and internal policies. 

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and FAA?compliant warehouse environment. 

  • Develop and enforce SOPs for shipping, receiving, inventory control, and equipment operation. 

  • Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, and Procurement to support operational and regulatory needs. 

Continuous Improvement  

  • Identify process gaps and implement improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. 

  • Monitor KPIs such as receiving accuracy, inventory variance, on?time shipments, and productivity. 

  • Optimize carrier relationships, freight costs, and logistics strategies. 

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. 

  • 3–5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics operations. 

  • 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience. 

  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, freight processes, and warehouse best practices. 

  • Experience working in a regulated environment; aviation or FAA Part 145 experience preferred. 

  • Proficiency with ERP/MRO systems and Microsoft Office. 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse environment. 

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem?solving skills. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred — or willingness to obtain if required. 

  • Knowledge of FAA documentation requirements (8130?3, C of C, traceability). 

  • Experience with hazardous materials shipping (IATA/49 CFR). 

  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain. 

  • Familiarity with lean principles or continuous improvement methodologies. 

 Work Environment: 

  • FAA regulated Repair Station warehouse environment. 

  • Exposure to aircraft parts, chemicals, and industrial equipment. 

  • Requires adherence to PPE, FOD control, and safety protocols. 

  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support operational requirements
