All AIM schools are approved by the Federal Aviation Administration. Over the past 25 years, this group of schools has expanded to eleven campuses throughout the country in such locations as Las Vegas, Nevada; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Kansas City, Missouri; Houston, Texas; Indianapolis, Indiana, and the metro areas of San Francisco, California; Orlando, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; Dallas, Texas; Washington, DC; Virginia Beach, Virginia, where our corporate offices are also located.

At AIM , we are always looking for qualified and experienced individuals that can pass along their skills at our campuses to future Aviation Maintenance Technicians to prepare them for a career in the aviation industry. We currently have openings for A&P Maintenance Instructors in Norfolk, VA to help teach our growing group of students.

This position is a perfect opportunity for experienced A&P Mechanics looking to take the next step on their education career path. We need individuals who are passionate about aviation and want to share their expertise in Aviation Maintenance Technology with eager students. This individual will teach at an FAA (Part 147) A&P school. Special consideration will be given for prior teaching experience, however, we offer a teacher training course to help you perfect your style and learn how to translate your skills for use in the classroom.

New students start every five weeks and can graduate with their A&P License after 21 months of education. Classes are offered six hours per day (7:30 AM to 2:00 PM), four days per week, for a total of 24 hours of classroom instruction plus class preparation time. Evening classes are also available (5:00 PM to 11:00 PM) over four nights per week and some campuses offer weekend classes of eight hours per day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Training is provided 40% in the classroom and 60% in the lab and hangar settings with actual engines and aircraft. Some campuses offer added instruction such as helicopter maintenance, aviation welding, and additional related programs of study.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
•Must have an FAA A&P License
•Prefer 3 or more years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance (special considerations will be given for more diverse experience)
•Prefer an outgoing personality with good communication skills and the ability to instruct students in this field of study
•Great starting salary with paid vacations, holidays, health insurance, retirement, and added benefits.

If you have such prior experience and meet the above qualifications, then call me at (757)363-2121 and ask to speak to Brad N. Groom, Assistant Campus Director. Telephone me first! I will explain the position to you and answer any pertinent questions that you might have before scheduling a personal interview for us to meet and allow you to tour the school.
