The Opportunity

BDA is currently seeking a talented individual to join the team as a System Administrator located in Brisbaneas part of Airpower Teaming System (ATS) project. The role will involve - Implementing, securing and maintaining computer systems for test, development and production environments, hardening systems and security remediation activities. The role is based in Brisbane and will require periodic attendance at RAAF Amberley and Brisbane CBD. Applications from other regions will be assessed on a case by case basis.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux), hardware (servers, PCs, storage and network).
  • Administration of Virtual Servers, Active Directory & system monitoring
  • Daily System administration and networking support
  • Fault finding and resolving ad hoc problems to prevent system downtime

Experience/Qualifications

The successful candidate will be able to convey their knowledge and experience in the general, technical and behavioural competencies listed above with the most desirable experience being:

  • Experience in maintaining, administering and supporting Microsoft Windows desktop, Windows Server and Linux systems.
  • Experience in the use of PowerShell and Command Line Interface
  • High level of customer service and interpersonal communications skills
  • Good understanding with virtualization technologies - VMware and/or Redhat KVM
  • Experience in Cisco networking technologies and Network Attached Storage (NAS) would be preferred.
  • Defence Security clearance to NEGATIVE VETTING 1 or above required
