Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Experienced Business Operations Specialist (Level 3 or 4) to support our Business Operations team based in West Jordan, UT.

Boeing Salt Lake fabricates and assembles both metal and composite structures for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. This job role supports a manufacturing environment and includes, but is not limited to, leading work transfers, assessing and monitoring rate readiness, coordinating impact and risk assessments for production system changes, and integrating special projects.  Facilitating and integrating cross-functional teams and reporting out to senior management is required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Independently develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains an integrated plan and schedule to meet program and/or project requirements in accordance with project management industry standards.
  • Performs studies, analysis (trend, variance, impact), risk assessments to determine impacts, and constraints involving product development, production rates, process improvement, program initiatives.
  • Creates schedule, reports, metrics, change activity, communicates and updates plan regularly throughout lifecycle of program or project.
  • Works to improve project management processes, business systems, and implement best practices that support project decision makers.
  • Directs all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion.
  •  Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
  • Assists customers to develop performance recovery plan and ensure all project control systems are in place to support ongoing support to stakeholders.
  • Program/Project Manager supporting a major Boeing Salt Lake product line such as the Composite Horizontal or Vertical Stabilizer Fabrication and Assembly, Metals Flight Deck Structures Fabrication and Assembly, Overwing Exit Doors Assembly, Paint Operations, or new strategic work.
  • Lead and integrate Boeing Salt Lake cross-functional teams to ensure work transfer execution, rate readiness, risk identification and mitigation, and product line performance improvements and execution.
  • Utilize project management tools/processes to support ad hoc studies and implementations in support of company directives and initiatives.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent experience.
  • 4 or more years of experience performing in a Business Operations, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Change Management, Strategy, Project Management, or Supply Chain role.
  • 4 or more years of experience collecting, interpreting data, and leading high level projects for Executives or Senior leadership.
  • 4 or more years of experience managing projects and using standard project management tools.
  • 4 or more years of experience developing and communicating recommendations to executive level management.
  • 4 or more years of experience working in a dynamic work environment, to include managing multiple projects/priorities.
  • 4 or more years of experience working with Microsoft office tools.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • PMP Certified or experience with Boeings Program Management Best Practices or equivalent program/project management processes.
  • Experience developing and integrating strategic projects, plans, and initiatives to meet business goals.
  • Experience working across multiple programs and/or functions in a manufacturing environment.

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors and typically 6 or more years’ related work experience, a Master’s degree and typically 4 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
