Boeing Defense Space and Securitys (BDS) X-37B is the United States most advanced state-of-the-art reentry spacecraft. Boeing is the prime contractor for the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV) an unmanned space vehicle that is used by the United States Air Force to explore reusable space vehicle technologies in support of long-term space objectives. Objectives of the X-37B program include space experimentation risk reduction and concept of operations development. Managed by Experimental Systems Group (ESG) a unit of Boeing Space and Launch Systems the X-37B is a flexible affordable and responsive platform balancing the characteristics of a spacecraft and an aircraft. Position Responsibilities: Manages employees performing technical or specialist activities within Product Support. Manages employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines Develops and executes project and process plans implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals. Acquires resources for projects and processes provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes. Manages develops and motivates employees. Establish metrics of safety first time quality productivity and affordability and use these metrics as a basis for continuous measurable improvement. Forecast resource needs and obtain and manage personnel facilities services equipment and tools to meet project and daily operating requirements. Position is typically performed on 1st shift however there could be periods of time when different shifts will be required to meet operational requirements. This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). Clearance and program access are required pre-start. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Minimum 5 years of experience have working in or supporting a manufacturing environment Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) Experience/domain knowledge of ESG (Experimental Systems Group) is preferred. Experience/domain knowledge of spacecraft processing in a factory operations environment is preferred A past history of leadership with experience working with and leading aerospace technicians in a multi-disciplinary environment.
