The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced Supplier Quality Specialist - Tooling and Digital Product Definition (DPD) to join the Quality team located in the Wichita, KSarea.

This position is located in the Seattle, WA area and requires on-site support of multiple suppliers. This is an autonomous position, therefore, the candidate must have the ability to work from home or a supplier location.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Organize and perform tooling/DPD (Digital Product Definition) capability assessments at suppliers.
  • Document and report Tooling and Digital Product Definition (DPD) audit and assessment results.
  • Develop corrective action plans, training and other resources to support improvements in supplier's control of tooling/DPD.
  • Act as a focal for suppliers and applicable business units to resolve tooling/DPD issues and concerns.
  • Assist with assessments of supplier tooling and DPD capability and compliance to perform current or potential future work.
  • Provide guidance and oversight when verification of coordination data to source master tooling is required.
  • Perform site requested periodic inspection of Tooling used for the acceptance of product.
  • Perform periodic tooling inspection using both physical and digital definition and interpret data for acceptance of tooling compliance.
  • Generate or initiate plan when root cause corrective action or potential product impact investigations are required.
  • Work under minimal direction

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of industry experience inQuality and/or Manufacturing processes and organizations?  
  • Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and implementing corrective actions
  • Experience in working with blueprints, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in auditing to quality system standards
  • Experience in fabrication tooling, working with tooling and tooling processes, or working in a tooling technical field
  • Experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience using the Supplier Quality Information System (SQIS) as part of a statement of work
  • Experience with REDARS
  • Experience with Project Management
  • Experience working with laser trackers or a CMM (coordinate measurement machine)
  • Knowledge of tooling fabrication techniques and the tools used for fabrication, rework, modification and maintenance

Typical Education & Experience:

Bachelor's and typically 6 or more years’ related work experience, a Master’s degree and typically 4 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
