Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support production system improvement projects applying the Boeing Problem Solving Model/Root Cause Analysis.
  • Use established physical, mechanical, or scientific principles and perform appropriate tests to identify and solve problems encountered on the production floor.
  • Assist in validation and ensure production readiness of solutions to complex problems.
  • Support development and implementation of manufacturing plans.
  • Resolve technical problems that would affect production performance, cost or schedule.
  • Collaborate in the development of conceptual designs and maintain the architecture for build plans.
  • Collaborate in the development of cost effective and improved processes for Lean production and tooling methodologies.
  • As a member of ESRC FSCC, integrate technical solutions to ensure process and product reliability.
  • Support analysis in design/build concepts, to evaluate a producible design/build definition. Investigate alternative solutions to meet producibility requirements.

Successful candidates will have the ability to learn in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to collaborate with both the engineering teams and mechanics on the factory floor.  Knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems such as CATIA; and parts, materials, and processes related to electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical and electro-optical commodities is also beneficial.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in ABET accredited course of study in engineering.
  • Experience working in an engineering subject area.
  • Experience working in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of Boeing Problem Solving Model (BPSM).
  • 1 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry. ABET is a preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
  • Associate: Bachelors degree and typically 1 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification, or an advanced degree with experience in an engineering classification.
  • Mid-Level: Bachelors degree and typically 3 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Masters degree with typically 1 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or Ph.D. degree with experience in an engineering classification.

Relocation:

  • This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
