Boeing is seeking a junior UK-based communications professional to help oversee our many charitable, university and research partners in the UK and Ireland, and to ensure our communications around them is robust and in keeping with Boeing’s brand and values.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm for the aviation, aerospace and defense industry and will be globally minded. The candidate will have the ability to work independently and in a matrixed environment, and will enjoy working in a small committed team in a global company. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable in meetings with senior stakeholders and completing the various administrative tasks required for this role. The position reports directly to Boeing’s head of communications for the UK and Ireland.
Partner with Boeing’s UK and Ireland broad spectrum of stakeholders to promote their work, and Boeing’s contribution to it.
Maintain the relationships with our many charitable, university and research partners in the UK and Ireland.
Be responsible for working with our partners and Boeing counterparts in ensuring grants are submitted, reviewed, approved and given in a timely and compliant manner.
Ensure the Boeing brand is supported and amplified, applying applicable communication standards and formats to ensure consistency and clarity.
Serve as the central hub in the UK and Ireland for the creation of adverts, banners and other collateral, working closely with internal and external designers in the UK and elsewhere.
Coordinate with global Boeing stakeholders on trade shows, events and senior leader visits in the UK and Ireland.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholders within the aerospace and defence community in the UK and Ireland.
This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
Bachelor’s degree or higher
3+ years of Communications work experience
3+ years of experience working with a broad spectrum of stakeholders from various communities, preferably for a large corporation or trade body
Based in our office in Westminster, London, with hybrid working arrangements possible
Strong understanding of branding and design standards
Experience with events
An understanding of the aerospace and defence community in the UK, as well as existing relationships within it
Excellent judgment, high ethical standards, adaptability and flexibility
Strong attention to detail
Experience operating in a complex, multi-faceted business
International experience and strong intercultural understanding
Outstanding oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Tech-savvy, including good presentation skills, including social and digital media
