The Opportunity

We are seeking an Aircraft Trades Assistant - Aerospace Worker to join our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team, supporting aviation maintenance for the Air Combat Electronic Attack (ACEA) Program at Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Amberley, Queensland.

As an Aerospace Worker, you will be assisting in all aircraft washes. You will be required to integrate with Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and other Aerospace Professionals. You will assist in maintenance activities in support of Product Support Training & Maintenance (PST & M), Amberley Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO). This may include specific aviation tasks, aircraft servicing and replenishments or simple line tasking.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in all aircraft wash activities
  • Perform general tasks in support of the ACEA MRO Services team
  • Assist Aircraft Maintenance Engineers in a range of maintenance activities
    • Ensure all maintenance tasks carried out and certified in the maintenance documentation
    • Assisting in aircraft dispatch activities
    • Promoting a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with EH & S policies and procedures
    • Reporting to the assigned Maintenance Operations Manager

Experience / Qualifications

  • Physical capacity to participate in aircraft wash activities, ability to work at heights and outdoors
  • Attained as a minimum MEA20418 Certificate II in Aeroskills or equivalent or MEA20518 Certificate II in Aircraft Line Maintenance or equivalent
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to work in a diverse team environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to WH & S and Quality Assurance
  • Experience in basic computer use, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Hold a C class drivers licence
  • Desirable certifications and licences: forklift licence, high risk work licence
  • Desirable experience in an Aerospace environment

Security Clearance

You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a government security clearance (Negative Vetting 1) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time. More information on the security clearance vetting process is available on the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) website.
