Boeing Training and Professional Services is looking for a Training Systems P-8 EWO Subject Matter Expert to support Boeing Global Services in Saint Louis, MO.  The selected candidate will support software delivery testing and device acceptance testing for the Weapons and Tactics Trainer (WTT) and Part Task Trainer (PTT) devices, as well as, follow-on software upgrades to those devices.  The candidate may cross train to other devices as well.  The candidate will be asked to support test activities for P-8A U.S. Navy and P-8 Foreign Military Sales training devices to include software and hardware acceptance testing at facilities in St. Louis, MO; Jacksonville, FL; Whidbey Island, WA and Australia with new customers and devices including India, Korea, UK, New Zealand, and NATO.

This is a hybrid position that allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Selected candidate will support software delivery testing and device acceptance testing for Weapons Tactics Trainer (WTT), Part Task Trainer (PTT), and Training System Support Center (TSSC) as well as follow-on software upgrades to those devices.
  • Candidate will be asked to support test activities for P-8A U.S. Navy and P-8 Australia, and International customer training devices to include software and hardware acceptance testing at facilities in St. Louis, MO; Jacksonville, FL; Whidbey Island, WA and Australia with potential for new customers and devices including India and UK.
  • Write Acceptance Test Plans and Procedures
  • Support P-8 training systems customers by assisting in the test of hardware and software. Candidate will also assist in the development of training requirements.
  • This position will include operation of the Weapon System Trainer (WST), Weapons Tactics Trainer (WTT), Part Task Trainer (PTT), and Scenario Generation Station (SGS), as well as, the addition of new device types.
  • Mentors/Cross Train other team members.
  • Review/edit subsystem and system level requirements and design.
  • Create and status discrepancy reports for failed requirements.
  • Analyze, review, and validate test data and acceptance test procedures.
  • Prepare and publish user-level documentation, customer-based presentations, and tracking metrics.
  • Listens and demonstrates understanding; clarifies meaning for others; speaks with clarity and precision; able to communicate with a diverse audience; writes clearly and concisely.
  • Interface with other members of project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions.
  • Work under minimal direction.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience as a P-8 Instructor EWO
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time
  • Ability to work flexible hours, overtime and occasional weekends when necessary

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to test and be familiar with anti-submarine/anti-ship capabilities of the P-8 in the flight simulator
  • Operational experience with deployed P-8A
  • P-8 training systems experience
  • Experience using P-8A Aircrew Training Devices such as WTT, PTT, MSDT, Electronic Classrooms

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
