The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist to join the team out of Seymour Johnson AFB, NC.
Prepares compliance and technical reports to meet Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements
Acts as primary site collaborate with regulatory agencies
Prepares and submits permit applications
Performs program reviews, investigates incidents and provides corrective action to prevent reoccurrence of incidents
Evaluates workplace hazards
Provides input to new business opportunities and facilities projects to ensure compliance
Conducts education and training to support regulatory and business requirements
Evaluates impact of new regulations on company operations
Reviews vendor, contractor and supplier activities for EHS compliance for site processes and program goals
Develop, coordinate, and update the Field Operations (FO) EHS Plan
Provide technical assistance on EHS issues and regulations, including international regulations; this includes, but is not limited to, site assist visits, pre-audit reviews, and audits
Prioritize EHS efforts in order to have the greatest impact on the number and severity of incidents
Connect with management when a work operation needs modification or suspension due to an EHS issue
Assist managers/leads in implementation of EHS programs
Prepare and distribute monthly EHS meeting presentations and metrics
Supervise the progress of the corrective action plans
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent
3+ years of experience in direct experience as the primary contact with regulatory agencies related to incident investigation and regulatory interpretations
3+ years of experience in auditing and problem resolution
3+ years of experience in fall protection, confined space, hazardous energy, crane safety and incident investigations
1+ years of experience functioning in a cross-functional environment
Travel 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Certified Industrial Hygienist
Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals
Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Experience in Aviation and/or Aircraft
Experience writing Job Safety Analysis/Job Hazard Analysis (JSA/JHAs)
Experience with Federal OSHA, Air Force Occupational Safety and Health (AFOSH) and Naval Air (NAVAIR) requirements
Experience leading a team or projects
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years related work experience, 10 years related work experience, etc.).
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
