Capture an opportunity to join the aerospace and aviation experts at Boeing, Defense, Space and Security (BDS) in designing and developing the future of US Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and Army weapons systems for the next 50 years by leading campaigns within the Phantom Works Advanced Missiles and Weapons team as a Business Development Capture Team Leader. You will personally take the mission lead on defining the future for US military weapons.  As Capture Team Leader (CTL) you will support the advanced weapons businesses.   

In this role, you are responsible for leading sales and campaign activities for a variety of weapons capability areas for the United States Air Force, Navy and Army weapons programs as a Capture Team Leader in accordance with the Integrated Business Acquisition Process (IBAP). You will have the opportunity to increase other skill sets over time, and to build a long-term career either within the core sales and marketing function or through other opportunities within Boeing.

Position Responsibilities:

  • The selected candidate will be responsible for leading sales and campaign activities for Phantom Works Advanced Weapons as a Capture Team Leader (CTL) in accordance with the Integrated Business Acquisition Process (IBAP). Position entails participation in the development of marketing and campaign win strategies that have a substantial impact on shareholder value and enhance warfighter capabilities
  • Primary focus will be to Interface directly with the customer decision makers to shape the market and optimize the business cases for new products, technologies and services
  • Will consult and influence decisions of Boeing senior level executives regarding business goals and objectives
  • Will leverage detailed understanding of the customers’ processes, procedures, techniques, organizations and culture – specific knowledge of US Department of Defense (DoD) weapons operations, tactics and acquisition

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Austin, TX, Saint Charles, MO, Arlington, VA or Huntsville, AL.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Critical skills include experience with both written and verbal communication with a comfort in public speaking and frequent interactions with executive-level management
  • Candidates must have proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Candidate must have experience building positive relationships, collaborating effectively and communicating clearly
  • Candidate must have 5+ years of experience using strategic problem-solving/analysis and communicating at senior management levels
  • Willing & able to travel domestically (up to 50% of the time) during Program execution

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent work experience
  • Have thorough understanding of the Government (political) / Defense (Department of Defense (DoD), United States Air Force, United States Navy, United States Army) Requirements and Acquisition processes. Experience directly interfacing with DoD customers
  • Experience in US military requirements, acquisition and operations of weapons systems
  • Training as a Capture Team Lead
  • Ability to balance the enterprise, business unit and customer goals to meet and drive the Long Range Business Plan (LRBP)
  • Ability to identify future business opportunities and promote the value of Boeing portfolio and partnership
  • Have good interpersonal, leadership and management skills as well as relentless customer focus are critical
  • Can initiate and advance customer relationships to be accepted as a trusted business partner by the customer
  • Can establish, maintain, and expand network to proactively identify and address customer needs while keeping lines of communication open
  • Interaction with domestic customers is essential
  • Capability to coordinate packaging of Boeing and Industry products and knowledge into complete solutions that meet customer needs
  • Lead review process with management by balancing customer expectations and Boeing resources
  • Lead campaign preparation and execution by identifying appropriate resources, team members and new business funds, to execute and win
  • Good interpersonal, leadership and management skills as well as relentless customer focus are essential
  • This position desires an active Secret United States Security Clearance (A United States Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
  • Active Top Secret security clearance and/or the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

Typical Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 12 or more years’ or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
