The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer (Level 3) to join the Secure Computing Solutions group located in Pleasanton, CA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
As a Software Engineer in Boeing’s Secure Computing Solutions group, you will develop an ecosystem (Software Tools, BSPs, Firmware and support libraries) around our custom SoC’s and embedded systems for defense, commercial and aerospace applications.
Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics
Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
Works under general direction
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start).
Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)
Experience developing Linux BSPs for embedded systems
Good understanding of software development flows and processes
Experience developing and debugging software using high level programming languages (C, C++)
Experience developing and debugging software for embedded systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience developing embedded software for ARM processors
Experience with industry standard Real Time Operating Systems
Familiarity with computer/information security principles
Experience working in an Agile development environment
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience)
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
