The Fabrication Division organization within Boeing Commercial Aircraft is seeking an Associate Equipment & Tooling Engineer in Helena, MT. As a part of Fabrication Division in Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Helena is located in the beautiful state of Montana and is currently targeted as a growth site. As such, Boeing Helena is seeking both Equipment Engineer(s) and Tooling Engineer(s) as the site continues to bring on new work statement and grow. Our Equipment Engineer(s) will be responsible for helping with the acquisition of new equipment as we grow as well as maintaining existing production assets for sustainment. Our Tooling Engineer(s) will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining fixtures and tools required for milling, drilling, turning, shot peen, inspection, and other manufacturing processes on predominantly titanium and other hard metal production parts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports the evaluation of program and project requirements, develops moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System.
  • Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates for equipment and tooling.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
  • Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, prepares plans for productions readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares.
  • Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel.
  • Develops and implements moderately complex work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation.
  • Supports studies for disposition of assets

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Helena, MT.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accredited course of study in engineering.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience as either an equipment or tooling engineer.

Typical Education/Experience: 

Bachelors degree and typically 2 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a Masters degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

  • This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
