## DescriptionCobham Mission Systems in Orchard Park NY is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead business development efforts within the Cobham Mission Systems business. In order to perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Use SOF-BW best practice to identify qualify and develop revenue opportunities. Understand customer needs and shape new business requirements Develop and execute win strategies to bring innovative solutions to customers Act as a Capture Team Manager or be part of a capture team Act as voice of the customer and encourage team behaviors that focus on adding value and delivering customer benefits Maintain pipeline health to exceed order intake targets to support revenue generation Drive quality and timely responses of customer deliverables. Drive the Business Unit through appropriate Business Win Gate decisions with a pragmatic view of the Business Units ability to deliver a solution in line with overall opportunity objectives. Own pursuit through contract negotiation and acceptance to Program hand-off Provide input to internal business strategy development market analysis long-range growth plans and product and technology roadmaps Recommend potential partnerships investments and M&A opportunities This description reflects managements assignment of essential functions; it does not proscribe or restrict the tasks that may be assignedGrowth in accordance with business plans and budgeting Accurate input to budgeting and Long Range Strategic Plan process. Input to SIOP process with clear accountability against forecasts made Pipeline health Win rate and capture ratio as applicable to assigned responsibilities Qualitative external feedback (i.e. customers suppliers market); Reporting clear accurate and timely information; Maintain compliance with established policies and procedures; Ability to meet key responsibilities; Correctly assessing situations problems and opportunities and comprehending the actions requiredMinimum Qualifications Bachelors degree or international equivalent in a technical or business related discipline from an ABET accredited program; Proven sustained achievement of short range and long range organic growth plans through excellent pipeline management and strategies 5 years of experience in the successful execution of complex business capture and contracting 5 years of experience of demonstrated excellent customer and industry relationships Strong knowledge of customer and end-user operational needs and buying influences. Demonstrated strong commercial acumen in relevant business contracting environment. 5 years of experience in presenting high-visibility material to both internal and external senior management. Must have a thorough understanding of military life support systems and aircraft / pilot interactions 5 years experience understanding the impact of life support and aircraft systems on pilot physiologyPreferred Qualifications and Experience Masters degree or international equivalent in a technical or business related discipline from an ABET accredited program Strong interpersonal and communication skills; must be able to function in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary sales and business development environment. Strong interpersonal skills (communication motivation team working); Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities; Delivery focused mind-set. Advanced use and/or application of basic technical principles concepts and practices; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data. Works on problems with a large scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained; Participates in alternative solution identification; Works well within group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics. Follows project plans; reports changes and progress; Completes projects on time and budget; contributes to project team activities. Work in a closely supervised setting; follow specific detailed instructions. Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Demonstrates group presentation skills; Participates in meetings.
