The Staff Accountant plays a pivotal role in our finance team contributing to the management of financial transactions preparing comprehensive reports and ensuring strict adherence to accounting principles and company policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Performs general accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
+ Assist with monthly financial statements.
+ Maintains the general ledger.
+ Prepare monthly journal entries required during closing.
+ Codes invoices sets up new accounts/projects reconciles accounts and closes the books monthly.
+ Supports accounts receivable payroll and accounts payable functions.
+ Assist with the preparation of documents for the annual audit process.
+ Collaborate with Finance/Accounting team members to improve processes procedures and overall efficiency of the Finance/Accounting function.
+ Verifies payment of invoices and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts/projects.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
+ bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
+ 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting or a related field.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
+ Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Excel). Other computer-based knowledge such as Power Automate is an added benefit. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical financial practices.
