Job Summary

Plan, direct, and coordinate human resources activities for Everts Air Cargo. Provide guidance and resources to Leadership staff for recruiting, screening, and interviewing potential employees. Ensure that all HR programs; Recruitment, Onboarding, Recognition, Discipline, Emergency Response, Investigations, Workers Compensation, Training, Professional Development and Employee Services, and others, are current, facilitated properly and in compliance. Manage Reception Function and HR Specialist, and Generalist as they conduct recruitment, Drug and Alcohol, and Benefits Programs. Serves as an advisor to the organization to ensure facilities are following all Human Resources, Business Ethics, Local, State, Federal Regulations as well as Everts Air policies and procedures.

Job Duties

  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and administering policies and procedures, and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements. Assist with new employee orientation and onboarding to ensure they receive information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.
  • Coordinates interface with internal systems such as payroll, time and attendance, pension, and benefits.
  • Develop and create sustainable, targeted staffing guides, recruitment strategies and techniques for qualified candidates via applicant review, direct sourcing, referrals, networking, professional communities, etc.Identify staff vacancies and recruit; interview and select applicants. Process and review employment applications to evaluate qualifications or eligibility of applicants.
  • Consistently maintain favorable and effective relations among employees. Motivate and stimulate leadership staff to ensure consistent, equal, and fair treatment of their employees. Develop and provide training, assist leadership with employee onboarding and department indoctrination.
  • Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations re EEOC, DOL, and others.
  • Process Employee Paperwork including Drug and Alcohol, hiring, retention, pay changes, terminations, CSED, LOA’s, and others as designated.
  • Ensure that the Employee Manual, as well as other HR manuals, is maintained. Analyze the effectiveness of personnel policies and practices.
  • Serve as the Administrator of UKG for all HR purposes and maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
  • Review and approve all payroll change requests, performance evaluations, PTO requests for senior leadership, counseling statements, disciplinary actions, and offers of employment. Represent organization at personnel related hearings and investigations.
  • Conduct exit interviews to record, understand and respond to reasons for employee departures.
  • Develop or administer special projects.

Required/Preferred Experience, Education & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources administration or related field preferred.
  • Over five years of experience in Human Resources with increasing supervisory responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of policies and practices involved in personnel/human resource functions, including recruitment, selection, training, regulations, and procedures; compensation and benefits packages; labor relations and negotiation strategies; and personnel information.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution, including planning, resource allocation, workforce modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods.
  • Requires the knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, and mathematic applications as they pertain to accounting.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of supervisory and financial functions.
