### Summary
Serves as Front Line or Middle Manager (first or second line supervisor) of a unit branch or office. Directs the work of an organization divided into 2 or more units each managed by a subordinate manager and/or team leader. The work of the organization directly impacts the organization and frequently impacts the mission of the line of business/staff office the entire region multiple regions or the entire agency.

### Responsibilities
Incumbent serves as the Operations Supervisor for Air Carrier/Part 121 in a Flight Standards Field Office overseeing the Piedmont Airlines Certificate. Incumbent is responsible for the direction of assigned personnel. Assures accomplishments of all aviation activities and compliance with the minimum level of safety requirements of the Federal Aviation Regulations. Notifies Office Manager and all affected personnel when there is evidence of adverse trends developing which may indicate the need for additional oversight. Performs all supervisory duties i.e. interviews/selectees candidates hears grievances/employee complaints and reviews training needs makes managerial decisions which promote a positive image of the FAA. Performs additional duties as assigned.

### Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I or FG.S-13 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience may include but is not limited to: examines certificate management and geographic surveillance programs conducted by aviation safety inspectors; directs inspectors to make changes in staffing or program emphasis necessary to accomplish an integrated operational program; determines current and future staffing needs necessary to accomplish the program for the unit; determines administrative and technical training need for all personnel assigned to the unit; monitors all phases of operations; plans work to be accomplished by subordinates; sets work priorities and schedules; advises counsels and instructs subordinates on work and administrative matters.

This moderate risk public trust (Level 5) position requires a National Agency Check and Inquiry with Credit (ANACI) which may be completed after appointment.

Certificate and Ratings:
Airlines Transport Pilot Certificate; or Commercial Pilot Certificate with multiengine land and instrument ratings and eligibility for an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate; or a Commercial Pilot Certificate with single and multiengine land and instrument ratings (or an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with single and multiengine land and instrument ratings); and a Flight Instructor Certificate with both airplane single and multiengine and instrument ratings.

This is a temporary position not to exceed one year; it may be extended terminated or become permanent without further competition.
