Aerospace Engineer Journeyman Edwards Air Force Base California City California HX5 is an award-winning provider of engineering research and development and technical services to clients such as NASA and the Department of Defense. Founded in 2004 HX5 is a fast growing veteran and woman owned company with locations nationwide. HX5 is currently seeking an Aerospace Enginer to join our team in California City Cal Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work closely with companion experimental efforts also underway in the group. This position involves Developing and deploying high fidelity flow simulation software. Applying state of the art tools in model reduction machine learning and design optimization primarily to model unsteady turbulent combustion phenomena in engineering devices. There will be applications in a number of other areas of aerospace propulsion. Work in a team of researchers active in the areas of computational combustion propulsion system development and laboratory testing. There will be opportunities to interact with leading researchers in applied mathematics and aerospace engineering in academia and industry. Education and Experience MS or Ph.D. in mechanical/aerospace/chemical engineering with strong background in gas dynamics computational fluid mechanics. LINUX environment MATLAB Python R FORTRAN C++ (as many of these as possible) Must have experience numerically solving partial differential equations. A particular focus on fluid equations and turbulence preferred. Preferred Experience in modeling turbulent flow and/or chemically reacting flows. Familiarity with parallel computations CAD and grid generation skills. Must be a US Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance for the position.
