To assume overall responsibility for the quality and delivery of medical and security assistance aviation services to our clients and members of International SOS. The incumbent is responsible for the provision of a client demand-oriented 24-hour air ambulance and charter procurement capability and for providing case management and leadership on aviation transportation cases to the Assistance Centre teams. The incumbent will ensure adequate resourcing and skills to provide the highest quality of service to internal and external clients and members ensuring that the International SOS reputation for excellence in the sphere of air transportation is achieved and maintained. To be responsible for and provide clear leadership in the delivery of professional and effective medical and security aviation transport services for clients of International SOS to the highest standards of excellence. Establish and develop fixed wing Air Ambulance services/networks Air Charters and helicopter emergency medical services/networks (HEMS) as appropriate across the region as well as wide and narrow body general charter aviation capability for mass casualty security and large-scale evacuations. Differentiate the International SOS offering through quality of assistance aviation services responsiveness of the service and expertise on aviation matters to both our internal and external clients To provide technical aviation oversight governance and expertise to the Americas region and support the development and ongoing strategic maintenance of the aviation network. To proactively performance manage all Americas Aviation providers Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Act as a support capacity to assist local management in ensuring that Intl.SOS medical transport services and processes are fully proceduralised integrated into the respective Assistance Centre operations and operating in compliance with client service level expectations. Improve and achieve best practice in activation and launch times for missions in the region through focused strategies such as facilitation of over flight and landing clearances. Act as a support capacity to assist local management in the creation of Medical Emergency Response Plans (MERPs) and Travel Security Evacuation Plans (TSEPs) with aviation related information and expertise; be a point of expert reference in the region for the development of security and medical emergency response plans of action with regard to aviation Support the AC as subject matter expert in client communications relating to aviation in active case management client planning complaint resolution and other communications as required. Development of charter aviation options; Provision of contact details for all charter providers; Ongoing liaison with aviation providers; Develop and manage flight planning and mapping structure Develop enhance and maintain the network of accredited aviation providers for Intl.SOS in the region to ensure we have access to sufficient accredited providers to support demand for air medical evacuations and security evacuations. This includes both narrow and wide-bodied aircraft. Build relationships with various Departments of Civil Aviation ground handlers other aircraft providers in the region to the best benefit of Intl.SOS operations. Establish a desktop audit prioritisation plan with the regional GAN teams. Ensure GAN are appropriately engaged in medical/security transportation development requirements Support the development of contractual agreements with key providers ensuring service level standards and optimised pricing structures. Coordinate the planning and implementation of aviation safety audits of aviation providers in the region in accordance with the aviation audit policy of Intl SOS. . Support the maintenance of a database of regional Air Ambulance and charter aircraft providers and their aircrafts including operational data such as range configuration and medical equipment. Ensure sufficient mass evacuation capability is in place to support potential regional exposures. Assist the GAN teams in the region in sourcing appropriate aviation providers and perform their second instance assessment. Feed and maintain the SPIN data base in that regard. To ensure accurate records are kept including statistical information where appropriate including updating case files. Maintain statistics on comparative costs of providers including objective performance such as frequency of delays and availability Ensure all providers are managed in line with the agreed Performance management metrics and Groups Operational Review process Ensure the close working relationship with the Intl.SOS Philadelphia Leadership Team and their respective medical and security teams responsible for the region. To be available to Sales and Marketing staff and clients for discussion and problem solving of medical and security transportation issues. Experience Required: 5+ years of knowledge and experience within the air medical industry. Experience dealing with aviation operators and/or aircraft charter brokers. Track record of procurement contracts and quality/business process improvement required. Working within an Assistance Center environment a plus. Experience in safety/regulatory compliance due diligence preferred. Must have strong computer skills. Excellent written and spoken English. Competent Spanish language skills would also be preferred. Travel/Rotation Requirements: Moderate travel In and Out of business hours participate in cross regional/global Aviation Manager on Duty roster To work flexible hours as appropriate to the needs of the postSalary Range: $100K -- $150K Minimum QualificationPlant and Facilities Management.
