SummaryKing County International Airport/Boeing Field(KCIA) is searching for a new Operations Specialist (Project/Program Manager 1). This position reports to the Airport Duty Manager (ADM) on shift at King County International Airport/Boeing Field. The Airport Operations Specialist assists with the safe secure and efficient operation of the airport complying with FAA FAR Part 139 and all local state and other federal regulations.
The Operations Specialist will assist Operations Engineering and Maintenance staff during the construction season including monitoring for safety security compliance and coordination with Air Traffic Control contractors and tenants.This recruitment is for 2 Career Service vacancies. In the future we may use it to fill more vacancies within a year.ABOUT KING COUNTY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (BOEING FIELD)KCIA is one of the busiest primary non-hub general aviation airports in the nation. Located just four miles south of downtown Seattle it averages 200000 aircraft operations each year. In 2001 it was named by the National Air Transportation Association as one of the "100 Most Needed Airports" in the United States.
KCIA ranks among the most successful public investments in state history. The airports annual economic impact is $3.5 billion - supporting more than 16000 jobs and providing $1.8 billion in labor income in the county. The airports 150 tenant businesses also directly support more than 5000 jobs in the local economy. KCIA promotes the health of the aviation industry by establishing pipelines for employment and for employee development.
As a general aviation airport KCIA serves small commercial passenger airlines cargo carriers including UPS private aircraft owners helicopters corporate jets and military and other aircraft. It is also the final delivery center for the Boeing Companys 737 aircraft and serves as the companys military flight center along with other Boeing operations. The Museum of Flight is located on the airport property with a wide variety of aircraft and exhibits showcasing aviation history. KCIA frequently is host to celebrities and dignitaries including the President of the United States who prefer Boeing Field because of its proximity to downtown Seattle and convenient connections to other business districts in the region. Due to its proximity to CenturyLink Field Safeco Field and other sports venues many teams prefer to use KCIA when playing in Seattle.

Coordinate with the air traffic control tower (ATCT) for closures and work on the plete inspection reports and notes discrepancies found during inspections and initiates work requests for corrective action.Assist in maintaining and implementing the Airport Certification Manual (ACM).Provide airfield condition reporting through Notice to Airmen (NOTAMs).Provide vehicle escorts for those needing access to the air operations area (AOA) including contractors vendors VIPs etc.Conduct movement and non-movement area driver training classes.Monitor weather conditions and provides updates to Management Airport Duty Managers and Maintenance Supervisors.Response to weather events and airport emergencies such as accidents bomb threats or hazardous spills in accordance with the Incident Command System (ICS).Assist in information gathering for reports from operational and safety data.WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WHO:Have aviation work experience or aviation educational background.Can operate in environment requiring emergency response customer service and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.Can work effectively in a team setting and contribute to a work environment that embraces and encourages diversity in its workforce and where differences are valued.Can demonstrate behaviors that include fairness respect and PETITIVE CANDIDATES WILL:Have been or is an Airport Certified Employee (ACE) with the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE)Had familiarity and experience operating within the National Incident Management System-Incident Command System (ICS) ICS-100 200 700 800Have a pilot certificate or experience with flight training.APPLICATION PROCESS:This opportunity to open to all applicants. This position is a part of a 24-hour operation and requires working any shift including nights weekends and holidays.
