As a Materials and Processes Engineer youll work on a broad range of projects in both a laboratory and manufacturing environment that will challenge you to learn and grow in your career. Working side by side with designers test and manufacturing engineering youll use your education experience and growing expertise to develop and evaluate new and advanced technology to survive in the most hostile of environments. In this role you will: oSelect Parts Materials and Processes (PMP) on new designs that will help defend our country get hands-on manufacturing experience of the next satellite or provide oversight to an extensive supply chain providing products critical to Mission Success oPerform Materials and Processes (M&P) technical engineering assignments oSolve problems and find creative solutions oParticipate in the selection qualification testing and failure analysis of materials and processes prepare technical and progress reports on work youre doing prepare specifications evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports oCoordinate with other fields such as Design Engineering Manufacturing Quality Engineering and Procurement Typically looking for 9 to 13 years of professional experience Basic Qualifications: oMaterials and process engineering related background and/or field of study oExpertise in metal finishing processes including plating anodizing chemical conversion coating passivation oExpertise of Materials and Processes for product development improvement design application and production oAt least seven years of experience with metals metal finishing (plating/anodizing/passivation processing) corrosion protection priming painting sealing cleaning failure analysis and manufacturing operations oExperience developing environmental and operational requirements for materials in aerospace applications (flammability dissimilar metals stress corrosion embrittlement modes etc.) oNon-conformance and failure analysis disposition experience oExperience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications program plans/requirements etc.) oExperience reviewing engineering drawings and/or specifications and providing guidance to design stress and manufacturing engineers oExperience working with customers and teammates oGood writing communication and interpersonal skills This position requires the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance. US Citizenship required. Desired Skills: oExperience managing M&P for missile applications oExperience in sealing and organic coating application for corrosion protection oExperience with high temperature materials oMetallurgical plating brazing heat treating and forging experience oMetallurgy support on the manufacturing floor and working with suppliers oSpecial process auditing type experience oExperience in participating in major program milestone reviews such as PDR and CDR oInfluencing corporate and industry standardsSalary Range: $100K -- $150K Minimum QualificationIndustrial Engineering Process Management.
