This new ground base Missile defense System will include phases progressing through design flight test initial production and deployment of the Next Generation Interceptor for the Ground Based Missile Defense system. Join the Lockheed Martin team and join the company that has developed and flown more interceptors than any other U.S. Company and has decades of missile development and flight test experience from government contracts as well as internal investments in research and development projects.As our next Solid Rocket Motor Certified Principal Engineer you will have the opportunity to: develop integration technical requirements and engineering documentation lead component testing lead investigations collaborate with subcontract management to provide technical support enhance cross discipline product development participate in mentorship opportunities and professional development all while serving as a technical interface to program management systems engineering quality and our customer counterparts. You will lead the development team working within Lockheed Martin and with your Supplier Teammates on engineering design qualification assembly integration and test of Solid Rocket Motors used in Divert Attitude Control System application. You will coordinate/approve teammates/sub-contract design packages and may be required to support functional testing of hardware and systems troubleshooting these systems and making quick independent technical decisions. You will present at Engineering Review Boards Configuration Control Boards and Failure Review Boards as required and be expected to handle aspects of product acceptance reviews and certifications as Certified Principal Engineer of assigned hardware.
