Byrd Institute - RC1511 Location OTHR - Other Off-Campus Location Salary Range Commensurate with education and experienceJob DescriptionThis position is responsible for the program initial certification process and continued adherence to the certification standards of CFR Part 147 and acts as liaison to the FAA state and local agencies for the program.This position also serves as the means of community and commercial outreach for the aviation maintenance program to local state and regional economic development entities. This position will work with said agencies to represent the university and identify cultivate relationships and encourage greater aerospace development in the region.Cultivate and sustain industry relationships with companies and establish campus recruiting relationships work with companies to develop and execute recruiting and branding strategies that meet our corporate partners talent sourcing goals.This position serves as a messaging arm to clearly communicate to the community and education partners the opportunities available for students of all levels.Responsibilities Candidate will actively participate in student recruitment public relations industry outreach and marketing efforts. Candidate will actively participate in outreach to local educational institutions to provide knowledge of the career opportunities for all levels of school students. Candidate will coordinate with local and state officials to create employment and economic opportunities for students and the community. Gather information to remain current on national trends concerning University aviation programs aviation education centered legislation. Potential sources of education funding (including institutional federal and private) and of trends within the aviation industry. Coordinate with the Chief Instructor to ensure the programs adherence to the certification standards of CFR Part 147 and acts as liaison to the FAA state and local agencies for the program. Coordinate with the Chief Instructor to meet with incoming students and their families to explain the responsibilities and opportunities for all future aviation maintenance students. Provide the civilian and military sectors with relevant information regarding University programs and services. Assist military personnel in receiving credit or aid to complete the training program. Assists in monitoring and processing budget expenditures for the campus. Practices diligence in safeguarding of University assets. Along with other campus staff members ensures that campus financial affairs are in good order and that the campus is always audit ready. Program Director will participate the development of teaching at Huntington Tri-State Airport assist with the hiring of staff and faculty implementation of the curriculum selection and acquisition of equipment and serve as the founding director the Aviation Maintenance School which will accept its inaugural class in the fall term of 2021.Required Qualifications A Bachelors degree in aviation or education from an accredited institution of higher education. 5 years practical aviation industry experience and knowledge of CFR Part 147 and Part 145.
