What we’ll expect from you and what you'll be doing:

  • Providing the ultimate safety and customer service experience for our maintenance customers
  • Overall responsibility for the Part 145 repair station quality and inspection department
  • Manage the Part 145 Repair Station/Quality Control Manual to ensure compliance of 14 CFR 145.211
  • Perform aircraft conformity inspections and logbook reviews
  • Oversee communication with Part 135 Maintenance Controller
  • Collaborate with direct report(s) to develop and implement processes, practices and policies that ensure effective and consistent operations
  • Perform maintenance tracking reviews
  • Assist, supervise, and mentor direct personnel assigned to the Quality Assurance department
  • Resolve all 145 issues related to safety, quality, and regulation
  • Oversight of inspectors during work performed under CFR 145 Repair Station
  • Ensure that all inspections & repairs are completed & documented in accordance with the Quality Control manual, company procedures & CFRs prior to releasing the product for return to service
  • Oversee or instruct personnel in Quality Assurance & Inspection techniques & methods
  • Oversee revising of the 145 Quality Control/Repair Station manual
  • Provide oversight of Mayo Aviation’s Training Program
  • Update compliance tracking software as required for Part 145 customers
  • Provide guidance for proper logbook entries for the work performed by the Repair Station
  • Oversee Receiving Inspections per the Quality Control Manual
  • Approve Repair Station quotes, final work orders and invoices
  • Perform surveillance audits in coordination with FAA personnel
  • Perform log research for customer aircraft inspections
  • Communicate with appropriate regulatory authorities regarding issues related to safety and quality

Job Requirements

  • Working knowledge of CFR 145, 135, 121 & 91 regulations
  • Full understanding of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
  • Full understanding of the Company’s Operations Specifications
  • Expert level knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including team building, coaching, and people development
  • Proven ability to set priorities, communicate objectives and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Minimum 10-15 years working experience as A&P mechanic in a 145/135 or 121 operation
  • Minimum 3 years in a qualified inspector role
  • 2-5 years people management experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft products and other industry specific software

Working conditions are those of a typical aircraft maintenance department. The working environment includes areas of moving mechanical parts, equipment, and chemicals. Hearing protection is often required. PPE is provided. May require occasional periods of lifting, pushing, or pulling 25 to 100 lbs.
