Description
As a member of the Menzies Aviation Cargo Handling team you will be responsible for receiving storing and distributing freight while practicing all the Company’s Safety Policy inclusive of but not limited to wearing PPE equipment operation safe lifting procedures or obeying speed limits when driving company vehicles and equipment.
+ Rate of Pay Starting $19.00 an hour
+ Work Hours: Sun-Wed 9:00pm – 7:30am / Wed-Sat 9:00pm – 7:30am
Key Responsibilities
+ Reads air waybill bills of landing or freight manifest to determine the items to be moved gathered or distributed
+ Conveys freight from receiving dock with forklift
+ Opens containers for breakdown
+ Inbound parcels through handheld capturing bar code and place parcels onto belt
+ X-ray Screen parcels
+ Sort screened parcels through handheld and build parcels back into containers
+ Wrap band and weigh container
+ Performs cargo build-up and/or breakdowns freight to and/or from skid pallets or ULDs
+ Ensures that work areas are clean and hazard free of loose nets straps etc
+ Must follow all Security procedures as required
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
+ Must have high school diploma GED or equivalent work experience.
+ Must have current driver’s license with no violations over the past 5 years.
+ Forklift certification preferred.
+ Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
+ Must be able to speak read and write in English proficiently.
+ Must pass driver’s test with the Department of Airports and obtain a driver’s license to drive on Airport Operational Area (AOA).
+ Must pass an FBI background check and obtain a custom seal.
+ Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds on a continuous basis.
+ Must pass pre-employment medical and a drug test.

Work is done both indoors and outdoors sometimes with no AC or Heating.
This individual will also work with disgruntled customers throughout the airport and must maintain a positive attitude when representing our company and communicating with customers within the airport.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand walk sit use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with arms climb or balance; and talk or hear.
Other tasks include lifting passenger bags up to 70lbs which could also involve bending and stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70lbs.
