MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a Commercial Pilot in Rotocraft-Helicopter Certificate Operations, Commercial Pilot in Helicopter Instrument Certificate Rating and a Class 2 Medical Certificate. Completion of a minimum of 1,000 hours of rotorcraft-helicopter flight time as pilot-in-command, to include 100 hours as pilot-in-command turbine rotorcraft-helicopter, 100 hours as pilot-in-command cross country rotorcraft-helicopter, 250 hours as pilot-in-command night flight-time rotorcraft-helicopter, and 10 hours rotorcraft-helicopter flight time in the preceding 12 months. Must obtain a valid State of Florida Firefighter Certification, or State of Florida EMT certification within one year of probation. Must attain Agusta AW 139 type rating within one year of probation and maintain valid rating throughout employment.

RECRUITMENT NOTES

This position will be reporting to the Air Rescue Bureau at Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and will work approximately nine (9) - 24 hour shifts per month OR work 4-days 10-hours shifts. This position starts at an in-hire base rate of $3,145.43 (bi-weekly) / $81,781.30 (annually) and offers pay incentives that may be applicable. This position will be subject to an interview and a flight evaluation test.

With 71 fire rescue stations within unincorporated Miami-Dade County serving 29 municipalities, MDFR protects people, property, and the environment by providing proactive, responsive, professional, and humanitarian fire rescue services essential to public health, safety, and well-being. MDFR has units dedicated to serving the airport, seaport, and air transport services, as well as to serving in ocean rescue, fire and rescue, marine, hazardous materials, urban search and rescue (US&R), technical rescue, and venom response operations.
