Description, duties, responsibilities

NBAA seeks an experienced manager to lead our Air Traffic Services team. This position, located at the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Air Traffic Control System Command Center in Warrenton, VA, will manage the ATS specialists to ensure that NBAA provides ATS subscribers with real-time operational details on constraints in the National Airspace System and flight-specific assistance as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily including:

• Manage Air Traffic Services Specialists operating at the Command Center: responsible for all aspects of oversight including mentoring and developing the staff, reviewing work assignments, conducting performance evaluations and hiring of staff

• Interact with and maintain close working relationships with FAA ATCSCC personnel and management with a focus on equitable access to the NAS (airspace and airports) for Business Aviation

• Manage ATS staff participation in CDM workgroups representing NBAA interests

• Follow and administer all company policies and act as a role model in the adherence to policies

• Travel– 20-30% per year to represent NBAA ATS at required events

• Coordinate training opportunities for Specialists and Subscribers

• Manage a budget of approximately $500,000.00

• Work independently as well as work collaboratively on Air Traffic Services policy and strategy

• Influence NAS initiatives that have a high impact on business aviation operations
