Job Title: Lead Inspector
Department: Quality Control
Supervisor: Chief Inspector
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
The Lead Inspector provides supervision, evaluation and motivation to inspection personnel; organizes the inspection tools and equipment and ensures its proper use, and coordinates and prioritizes the inspection activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists, supervises and directs all inspection personnel.
Performs basic inspector duties and responsibilities.
Assists Chief Inspector in collecting the data and completing the documentation to support the TTE and MPP equivalency programs, and the PFC program.
Supervises the inspections of completed work and its proper documentation.
Supervises standard parts qualification processes, and keeps current list of preferred parts/materials suppliers.
Ensures the proper maintenance of special tools or equipment required for inspections.
Coordinates inspection tasks with the Lead Technicians and supervises, evaluates and sets priorities for inspection personnel.
Assists in conduction of vendor qualification, self-audit/self-evaluation procedures and completion of associated forms.
Assists the Chief Inspector in completing SUP and service difficulty reports.
Authorized to perform OJT instructions.
The Lead Inspector is responsible for supervising all Inspection staff.

Knowledge expertise of standard and special test equipment, its maintenance and calibration requirements.
Ability to interpret maintenance requirements into maintenance tasks.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints.
Experience in supervising personnel.
Good Communication, organizational and scheduling skills.
Read, write, speak and understand the English Language.
Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Lead Inspector is required to have an A&P license or a Repairman's Certificate, know the company manuals with associated policies and procedures.
Experience in supervising and qualifying personnel.
Minimum experience: 1 year as FAA certificated technician or inspector with supervisory responsibilities.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from technicians, inspectors, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of FileMaker Pro Database software; basic Search Engines; Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook.
