Join Rockwell Collins and help shape our future while creating yours. This is an on-site Customer Support Engineer position working in the Vancouver or Calgary area. You will be providing technical support to business jets customers and airlines on Collins avionics telecommunications or computer equipment and systems. The primary functions are to support installation operation maintenance troubleshooting repair test and training on site as required in accordance with Collins and customer requirements.
Job responsibilities include:
+ Provide technical support to field engineers technicians and product support who are installing diagnosing troubleshooting or repairing Rockwell Collins equipment. + Conduct technical analysis and recommend implementations modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer requirements. + Work without appreciable direction. Exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment. Network with internal and external key contacts outside own area of expertise. + Contribute to the development of new concepts techniques and standards. + Be an on-site subject matter expert to customers technicians engineering and management representing Rockwell Collins in the assigned region. + Use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex technical issues in creative and effective ways. + Serve as the company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters. Report design operation reliability and maintenance problems to product support engineering and all other product related experts at all levels in the organization. + Develop solutions to complex problems using ingenuity and innovation. Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercise judgment in selection methods techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. + Troubleshoot technical problems and issues determine technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications and recommend actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution. + Undertake pre-sales and/or post-sales technical support including installation testing and maintenance service to customers.
+ Bachelors degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a bachelors degree six years of related experience + Six or more years of experience providing avionics technical support to airlines or business jets + This position requires a customer service oriented individual one who is cooperative dependable and possesses excellent problem-solving skills in order to provide superior customer experiences while building long-term relationships and demonstrating a passion toward customer commitments. + Successful candidate will be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as within a team setting. + Able to make quick and well-informed decisions even under high pressure situations. + Candidates must be proficient users of Microsoft Word Excel and Power point. Familiarity with SAP would be an asset. + English required French is a plus.
