Quality Manager needed for small Aerospace Manufacturer in Kirkland, WA.

Seattle Aero has been in business for 48 years and is in search of a knowledgeable, reliable and dependable person to contribute to the success of the company.

This person is responsible for all internal and external quality issues directed by management. Develops, directs, implements and improves the company Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with the latest establishes ISO and AS9100/9120 standards.

To be successful in this position you must have quality experience, either as a QAM or Quality Engineer, be comfortable managing/directing your team of (4) tenured and experienced staff, be reliable and dependable.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Willingness to go the extra mile and work some OT when necessary
  • Manage AS9100/9120 QMS as appropriate for compliance to customer, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
  • Plan, schedule, and perform effective internal audits per requirements of AS9100/AS9120 , regulatory, and customer contractual requirements.
  • Support customer FAI and process improvement activities under AS9100.
  • Effectively respond to product design-, engineering-, and manufacturing-related issues.
  • Develop and document appropriate verification and validation of production processes.
  • Attend and support production meetings and training sessions with employee base.
  • Plan, schedule, and support second- and third-party audits performed onsite.
  • Establish and maintain company metrics and quality metrics.
  • Appropriate oversight of Receipt, Inspection, MRB, and Test functions to maintain output and quality at optimum levels.
  • Establishes and manages the engineering and production drawing document control system to ensure consistent and timely meeting of all customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support and education to other departments and staff regarding quality issues.
  • Encourage and lead continual quality improvement activities and develop corrective and preventive actions to maintain and improve upon performance and quality goals.
  • Maintain and improve the QMS and associated processes.
  • Work closely with Operations and other departments to meet their quality, cost, delivery, and customer relations goals.
  • Actively participate in Lean initiatives and other Company programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED:

  • Aerospace Experience (min 1 year)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Quality (either QAM or QE)
  • Ability to roll up sleeves, jump in and take control of the Quality system
  • Organizational skills
  • Dependability is a MUST
  • Ability to effectively lead a team of tenured people
  • Actively participate in Lean initiatives

Desired:

  • Management experience (highly desired)
  • Bilingual (Japanese/English) is a bonus
