Description, duties, responsibilities
Safely operate a light delivery truck (under 26000 GVW) for pick-up and delivery of aircraft parts and other related materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Verify load against shipping papers
Drive truck to outside customer locations and deliver/pick up customer orders and supplies
Inspect truck equipment and vital fluids daily keeping all filled to manufacturers recommendations and fill out daily and weekly preventative maintenance logs
Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions
Load and unload trucks in a manner so as to ensure all parts and supplies are protected against damage
Sign all paperwork relevant to the work picked-up
Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with Skills Inc. employees and customers representatives
Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency
Follow work rules and standard safety regulations at all times
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Skilled in driving
Valid drivers license with good driving record required
Ability to operate a forklift or be willing to be trained and become certified
Excellent communication and people skills
Outstanding customer service experience
Ability to communicate information clearly and directly to customers co-workers and supervisory personnel both verbally and in writing.
Ability to utilize interpersonal and communication techniques working in a team environment and dealing with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles
Skill in prioritizing and managing a fast paced work environment
Ability to take direction from lead and supervisor to complete assigned tasks
Ability to accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions
Skill in performing mid-level math skills efficiently and accurately (including addition subtraction multiplication and division using whole numbers fractions and decimals)
Ability to read work instructions and procedures in English
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
Ability to understand and adhere to all state and local driving laws
High school diploma or equivalent
Prior customer service experience
Prior delivery driving experience
