Tactical Air deploys advanced aircraft operated by experienced fighter and attack pilots to U.S. military installations in support of Navy Marine Corps Air Force and Army unit wing weapons school and combat deployment training. We are currently seeking experienced high-performance aircraft maintainers and related maintenance support to join our team to generate sorties and perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance supporting the USAF Combat Air Force (CAF) Contracted Air Support (CAS) contract.
The mission of this contract is to provide adversary air services to the USAF 4th and 5th generation fighter squadrons groups and wings across the U.S. Tactical Air operates the CF-5D and the F-5 E/F Advanced Tiger (F-5ATTM) a purpose-built modernized advance capability adversary aircraft. Tactical Airs maintenance staff is comprised of certified and experienced mechanics technicians specialists and logisticians. These professionals all work towards ensuring safe and seamless ground maintenance operations and are an integral part of a dedicated elite team who get things done enjoy working together and are committed to growing with this fast-moving high-performance company.
This position is located in Klamath Falls Oregon situated just north of the California border. Klamath Falls is a suburban community with a population just over 22000 people. Klamath Falls has a rich history and the Kingsley Field is home to the 173rd Fighter Wing of the Oregon Air National Guard. Klamath Falls known as Oregons City of Sunshine offers many recreational opportunities such as cross-country skiing golfing fishing hunting boating and bird watching. Klamath Falls is also an affordable place to live compared to other Oregon cities and is rated as a great place to live or retire.
The ideal candidate for the Aviation Life Support Specialist position will be highly productive professional disciplined team-oriented technically astute and responsive to the needs of the company and its Department of Defense (DoD) customers. This position will report to the Program Manager/Site Manager responsible for the safe and effective operation of company-owned aircraft and will perform organizational intermediate and limited depot-level maintenance to include inspection operational test repair modification and troubleshooting on all assigned aircraft components and equipment. This position will apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance guidance and instruction to other teammates as needed.
The key desirable and preferred requirements for this position include:
Qualified PR "A" school or Air Force school graduate preferred.
Current work experience in aircraft maintenance occupational field preferably in the military or with a government aviation maintenance contractor.
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals publications instructions special tools and test equipment.
Familiarity with operational capabilities and limitations of aircraft systems.
Possess thorough working knowledge of the detection prevention and treatment of corrosion.
Formal/specialist training; hazardous waste communication; FOD and TCP awareness; support equipment operator license; egress system checkout; non-nuclear ordnance explosive handling certification.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service.
Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to correctly prioritize workload to maintain schedules deadlines and standards on assigned projects.
Ability to manage multiple roles and projects and to see the big picture.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and be adaptable.
Ability to cross-train into other specialties.
Ability to read listen to and understand information and ideas verbally and in writing.
Creativity positivity and confidence.
Regular travel to various work sites throughout the U.S. may be required.
Ability to obtain U.S. government security clearance.
This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screening (including for marijuana) and physical certifications.
