Job Summary:Candidate will serve as an Associate Customer Trainer/Customer Trainer/Sr. Customer Trainer. In this position one will be primarily required to teach/facilitate the Aerosonde Initial Qualification Course while maintaining currency on evolving hardware software and procedures. You will also be expected to maintain a level of technical knowledge to be considered the subject matter expert. As the subject matter expert (SME) one will teach others in both classroom and field environments utilizing various methodologies of teaching while adhering to a set schedule. This position may include some travel in support of training and evaluation in various parts of the world. Must possess or be able to acquire a secret security clearance.Responsibilities: Provide leadership and direction. Approve and manage time cards and expense reports Conduct performance evaluations Manage and coordinate unmanned flight line activities. Conduct training task analysis. Assure that uniform and efficient training and publications processes are applied on assigned programs. Coordinate editing production and delivery of materials. Coordinate quality control activities to assure the accuracy and adequacy of each training product including in-process/final review editing for compliance with all applicable specifications and standards validation and change verification. Conduct course development; develop and present formal training courses and materials. Evaluate training methods and recommend changes/improvements to ensure efficient and effective qualification of students. Perform as a Subject Matter Expert for maintenance related issues. Provide technical and operational expertise for training device hardware and software development testing and utilization. Interface with hardware software and human systems integration engineering personnel to support product improvement. Serve as classroom and/or field trainer/instructor to provide initial qualification refresher sustainment and remedial training. Document and track student progress. Assist with preparation of technical cost and schedule estimates and proposals. Prepare plans for accomplishing training and documentation tasks. Read and interpret contracts and specifications and assist with determining detailed requirements. Deployment up to 50% on a rotational basis to conduct in-theater training and ensure re-certifications are achieved and maintainedOther responsibilities may include: Operational support of Aerosonde. Travel and deploy worldwide with military forces or commercial customers as required. Direct interface with various customers. Will be required to work odd shifts weekends and/or extended hours. Responsible for data management and generation. Provides general logistics functions. Troubleshoots technical problems and issues and determines technical solutions. Practice ISO 9001 and AS 9100 Total Quality principles and concepts.Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelors Degree with 3 years related experience or with a degree in Unmanned Systems related sciences/curriculum Or an Associates Degree with 5 years related experience Or High School/equivalent with 7 years of related experience Private Pilot Certificate Airframe and Powerplant Certification Aerosonde AO FCC or MT1 Certificate of Competency Aerosonde Operator/Maintenance Instructor Certificate of Competency Army qualified Instructor Operator NATOPS Instructor or Evaluator Consideration will be given to candidates with a strong training or instructional background in addition to aviation experience Successful completion of the Aerosonde Initial Qualification Training Course of Instruction for both the operator and maintenance roles is a condition of continued employment on this program. Background in formal schoolhouse or DoD training environment. Experience working on aviation flight lines. Experience with multimedia development programs such as PowerPoint Photoshop etc. Manned aviation or UAS experience is required. Prior qualification as an Aerosonde or other tactical UAS Operator or Maintainer is highly desired. UAS Instructor qualified rating is preferred. Candidate must be able to safely and effectively perform the duties of an operator and maintainer without supervision including flight line operations ground equipment setup and logs and records. Ability to coordinate flight schedules maintenance schedules resources inventory management and other aspects of maintenance operations. Intermediate to advanced computer skills and networking are required. Strong attention to detail in administrative requirements and reporting accuracy required. Must communicate effectively with internal and external customers both verbally and in writing and possess strong leadership skills. Strong organizational skills are necessary. Prior deployed experience as a UAS crewmember a desired plus. Amount of travel dependent on contract award during periods of high instructional demand candidate will be stationed at Blackstone VA. During periods of high operational demand candidate may be expected to deploy up to 50% of the time to various sites around the world. Relocation to Blackstone VA required Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance within 90 days of hire. Possession of current DoD secret clearance preferred.Must currently possess at least one of the following certifications:Licenses / Certifications:Must possess or be able to gain Operator/Maintenance Instructor qualification/certification to perform the duties of a UAS operator and/or maintenance instructor. FAA licenses or certificates such as private pilot commercial pilot instrument rating CFI CFI-I A&P IA are highly desirable. Recent deployed experience as an Aerosonde Crewmember is highly desired.Physical Requirements:Occasional lifts or pulls of up to 50 pounds are normal and the physical requirements include stooping kneeling crouching crawling reaching climbing handling fingering and feeling. Though many of the working locations are in covered or climate controlled facilities the applicant may be required to work in extreme hot or cold temperatures in multiple environmental climates.
